Amazing! Uses context to determine pronunciation. For kids or adults learning English or reading
Right after I purchased Big Typer I challenged it to speak, "The farmer taught his sow to sow." It got it right! Pleasantly surprised, I gave it, "The soldier decided to desert his dessert in the desert." Bingo! I continued to be amazed as Big Typer scored perfectly on almost all such challenges. It even gave proper inflection to, "Does he eat cake? Yes, he eats cake."
We use it with our grandson, who is learning to read. It is terrific for that purpose, The interface is dirt simple, No buttons or key sequences that a kid will hit by mistake and become lost in menus. Only a few clear buttons. Also, the musical notes with typing is nice touch. If your grandchildren are anything like mine, they may try a little childishly naughty language and end up in gales of laughter when they get it, and discover a lot about spelling when they dont. Let the be silly! Theyll be learning fast.
But Big Typer need not be just for kids. I use it to help foreign students learn to work with English words whose pronunciation depends on context.
